Sorry gojigen, but you seem to be confused. Don’t confuse life insurance with investment. You ONLY need life insurance if someone (wife, husband, children) relies upon you and your income for support. Hence: term insurance. You really only need it until your dependents are old enough to support themselves. Who cares if you are “uninsurable” at age 83! You should be retired by then and who are you supporting?

For investment, there are MUCH better options than a life insurance policy.

    Nice rant Suzi, but …
Nice rant Suzi, but far from the truth. In reality, this person would pay nearly 200K$ for your TEMPORARY insurance till age 83, ASSuming he could renew his term ins. every 20 years, arrive at 83 and be uninsurable. He could have had his WL ins. paid in full with as little as $64K with cash value guaranteed and a death benefit growing to over $800K by age 83. You recommend buying RE instead, what is the commission to the realtors? What guarantees are available with your other recommendations?
